Plunkett Foundation is proud to be a member of the Rural Coalition, a partnership of twelve national organisations who subscribe to a vision for a living and working countryside in England. Being part of this Coalition gives us a stronger voice in influencing government and policy makers and in getting our own members views and concerns heard.

In July, the Rural Coalition launched its 2017 Statement, which was an outline of the key principles bringing the Coalition Members together, and setting out the key policies and actions which we would urge the Government to apply to rural communities.

The launch took place at a House of Lords reception, following a letter written by our Chair Margaret Clark in The Times. There has been a great deal of media interest off the back of this launch including The Guardian, The Observer, The Sun and the Yorkshire Post. The pressure remains, however, to continue raising awareness at policy level.
