Plunkett Foundation’s National Networking and Training Event will be your opportunity to learn more about the new £150m Power to Change charitable trust. The trust has been established with the aim of supporting, developing and growing community businesses from across England. Vidhya Alakeson, CEO of the Power to Change Trust, will be joining us to tell us all about it from how to apply to how the Trust will be supporting the community co-operative sector. This is an incredible opportunity for you to hear first-hand how to make your grant applications get noticed amongst hundreds of submissions. Can your community co-operative afford to miss this insight into the other side of grant funding? Vidhya will also sit on the expert panel on the day and looks forward to answering your questions, as well as networking with delegates to hear more inspirational stories from the community co-operative sector.

Vidhya Alakeson was appointed the Chief Executive of The Power to Change in January 2015. She was formerly the Deputy Chief Executive at independent think tank the Resolution Foundation, and was also the mental health lead for the personal health budgets delivery programme at NHS England. Vidhya worked at the US Department of Health and Human Services in Washington D.C. from 2006-2010 and previously worked at the UK Treasury and the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit. She is a governor of Hackney University Technical College.

“I have long believed that, given the right support, individuals and communities are well placed to find their own solutions to the economic and social challenges they face and can do so with real creativity. It is, therefore, a real privilege as the first Chief Executive of the Power to Change to work alongside communities across England to enable them to take control and shape their own futures through community business.” Vidhya Alakeson.
