Witchampton Community Shop celebrated its official opening on 4th April 2009.
The shop sells, newspapers, milk, breads and other daily need items as well as a quality range goods. The aim is to serve not only Witchampton but villages over a wide area for which it will be their nearest supplier. These include Hinton Martell, Uppington, Chalbury, the Gussages, Holt, and parts of the Tarrant Valley. Visitors from afar to this lovely part of Dorset will be welcome as well.
VARA is a non-profit association set up with the objective of putting a heart back into local rural communities that had long since lost their shops and post offices. Surplus funds generated for VARA by the shop in the years ahead must, by law, be used exclusively to enhance village wellbeing and the lives of people which the shop exists to serve.
