New Community Shops Network – connecting the community-owned shops sector
www.plunkett.uk.net
Here at the Plunkett Foundation we are delighted to announce the launch of our new online Community Shops Network. The network has been established as a direct result of the needs expressed to us by community-owned shops. We see the network as a place for everybody involved in the community shop sector to share ideas and best practice, access resources and as a platform to pose questions to other communities and advisers within the sector.
The network enables communities to access specialist advisory support on a range of issues, including legal, financial, retailing and Post Office queries. As well as answering your questions, the site provides up to date information on funding and support programmes, inspirational case studies, an individual shop listing and map, and the latest news stories in relation to community-owned shops.
Register at
www.plunkett.uk.net and explore the network today. There is no limit to the number of users per shop or organisation, so please circulate this email to everybody you know who may like to be involved. If you are a committee chair, a treasurer, a volunteer, a shop manager or a shareholder, the network is the perfect place for to you to share your experiences and ask any questions you may have.
The network is a live site and will continually develop its content as users contribute and exchange information, ideas and resources.
The community-ownership sector is proving itself to be more and more successful with 220 community-owned shops now open in the UK. This year has seen a record breaking number of openings with plenty more community-owned shops in the pipeline.
If you have any questions about the network, please feel free to email
harriet.english@plunkett.co.ukand when you have registered as a user you can share your thoughts and suggestions on the network via our feedback forum.
