The Social Enterprise Ambassadors programme has been revamped, repackaged and is relaunched.
New information about the 30 ambassadors and their social enterprises can be found on this redesigned website, packed with news, features and biogs.
New for the site are in-depth features about social enterprises partnering with and private sector, adding value to public services, and inspiring young people.
Social Enterprise Ambassador’s programme manager Pauline Milligan said it’s an exciting time for the ambassadors and those interested in finding out more about social enterprise.
“Social enterprise is already bringing about positive change in the economy, society, and the environment, but the potential is so much greater.
With the new website and relaunch, and ambitious plans for the year ahead, the ambassadors plan to do even more to show how social enterprise is changing the world through business, to inspire more people to get involved and ultimately to transform the way we do business in this country.”
It’s been a busy summer so far for the ambassadors, with Speaking Up’s Craig Dearden-Phillips and P3’s Martin Kinsella finalising mergers that could have a major impact on the future of their businesses.
Saeeda Ahmed is celebrating a new Skilled for Success contract, while Dai Powell of HCT Group and Maria Donoghue-Mills of Novas Scarman Group are helping to create hundreds of new jobs thanks to funding from the government’s Future Jobs Fund.
Jean Jarvis of South Shropshire Furniture Scheme has become a Social Enterprise Mark champion and been awarded over £440,000 from the Big Lottery to fund work promoting social enterprise in the West Midlands.
The value of social enterprise was the message from Claudine Reid of PJ’s Community Service during a meeting with young people and Gill Coupland of Angels Housekeeping has been kept busy as a judge for the Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber Awards, which are held in October.
