Cross Party Commitment to Co-operatives in Wales
The four political parties at the Welsh Assembly have joined forces to express commitment to co operative solutions to the credit crunch at an event organised by Co operatives and Mutuals Wales (C&MW). Each party spoke on how co-operative and mutual finance can help drive the economy out of recession. Issues covered included the role of credit unions and mutuals in helping people manage their finances, co-operative solutions to the housing crisis, the significance of attracting young people into the co-operative movement and the need for schools to teach practical finances. C&MW hope to see much more joint working by the parties in the Welsh Assembly on co-operative and mutual issues.
