information centre
The
Plunkett Foundation Reference Library and Information Centre houses
a comprehensive English-language collection covering all aspects of co-operatives
and other forms of user-controlled business in rural areas. The range
of books, journals and documents from around the world has been growing
since 1914, and represents a unique contemporary and historical resource.
- The Reference Library encompasses approximately 20,000 items on all
issues regarding the creation and development of co-operative enterprises
and self-help in rural areas.
- The Information centre is open to anyone involved in the development
of rural group enterprise world-wide. The centre displays most of
the relevant journals, newsletters and reports published and provides
working areas, IT and copying facilities.

- The Plunkett Archive houses the entire series of the Foundation's
annual Yearbook of Agricultural Co-operation and World of Co-operative
Enterprise (1927-2000); the complete Irish Homesteads (1895-1923)
and the Diaries and Index of Correspondence
of Sir Horace Plunkett, as well as his documents relating to the Irish
convention of 1917-8.

In addition to Plunkett’s own publications, the Foundation holds an inventory of co-operative books available for purchase. These publications, written by leading co-operative practitioners and observers, cover a wide range of topics and issues in the field of rural co-operation and mutuality. Members are entitled to a 10% discount on all Plunkett Foundation publications.
